HD Stone Guard – The HD range comes with a standard stone guard at the front to help protect the tractor operator and the tractor itself from debris.It is formed by our CNC machines and is bolt-on allowing it to be replaced if it is damaged or completely removed for better visibility.

HD Lighting Arrangement – Every model in the HD range has lights as standard and uses the sealed wiring system fitted to all Marshall products, preventing water damage and allowing the light units to be easily replaced if damaged. In addition the lights are recessed into the back rails and guarded to make them as safe as possible.

HD Range: Rubble & Stone – The floor on the HD/6 model is 6mm thick, with the rest of the range benefiting from an 8mm rock floor. The HD/6 and HD/8 models have 5mm sides, with larger models being fitted with 6mm sides. The pressed design of the body further adds to the overall strength and rigidity; ensuring each model can handle rubble, stone or any other heavy material. In addition each model has been designed with a very generous cubic capacity to ensure that the stated loads can actually be carried.

HD Range: Muck – The large cubic capacities and robust build makes the hybrid dumper range ideal for carrying muck. The elevated rear tipping points and high tipping angle allows the load to be heaped up when discharged.

HD Hydraulic Door Design – The entire HD range benefits from the option of a hydraulic door to compliment the standard scow-end and increase carrying capacity. The hydraulic door option can also be “dealer fitted” to every model, allowing the trailers to be upgraded in the future.

HD Tipping Mechanism – The tipping mechanism is also very robust; with the HD/12 model upwards utilising chrome rams to prevent corrosion and premature seal failures. In addition the tipping points on larger models are formed by 50mm steel pins.

HD Suspension – Our tandem axle models all come as standard with split-oscillating suspension, which eliminates lateral movement. This combined with a wide chassis and wide spaced rams ensures maximum stability when tipping.

Paint Finish – Since November 2011 we have shot-blasted, this is acknowledged in the paint industry as the best possible method for preparing steel for painting. The shot-blasting creates a profile for the paint to adhere to, improving adhesion and in turn the protection offered to the steel. Our five man team of trained sprayers then use the latest spraying equipment to finish our products with a dual layer paint finish. Every machine is finished with 80 microns of high-build primer and 50 microns of gloss polyurethane; this combination provides excellent protection and a high-quality finish.

Delivery – Marshall Trailers uses a computerized build system to plan production to ensure that machines are delivered on time. The final stage of delivery is undertake by our two artic lorries, a 7.5ton rigid lorry and a number of other haulage partners.

Spare Parts – Marshall Trailers has a full selection of spare parts for all our ranges, most of which can be dispatched immediately. In some cases we have spares for machines dating back forty years, which gives you peace of mind when buying a Marshall that you will be properly supported well into the future.

The Marshall HD/8 hybrid dumper is a heavy-duty dumper that is designed to handle the toughest jobs in quarries, construction sites or even farms.
It has a 6mm floor and 5mm sides, which provide an extremely robust body that can cope with carrying rocks and other heavy loads that could potential damage a lighter trailer. The body of the trailer is formed from heavy-duty pressed steel sheets reinforced with a generous number of bearers that further enhances the strength of the body. The HD/8 comes with a tapered rear-end as standard and elevated tipping point, providing the dual benefits of easy loading and the heaping of loads when discharged. To further enhance the trailer’s strength the tipping points use a 24mm high tensile bolt to maximise service life.
The chassis on this model uses our tried and tested design perfected over 60 years of trailer manufacturing, providing excellent strength and stability. The HD/8 also has a high tipping angle of 60 degrees guaranteeing loads are safely and efficiently discharged. The tandem axle design of this model allows it to be fitted with oscillating split tandem suspension to provide excellent stability. On top of this all our dumpers are fitted with lights and hydraulic brakes as standard ensuring that they meet all health and safety regulations.
The standard quality Marshall build and the tandem axle design means the HD/8 can tackle many of the jobs that larger trailer would typically handle; substantially increasing its usefulness to customers.

The law currently states that trailers travelling below 25mph have to have a braking efficiency of at least 25% (UK Road Vehicle Construction & Use Regulations). Above this speed it is unclear exactly what requirements an agricultural trailer has to meet, whether it is commercial braking requirements or still simply a 25% braking efficiency.
There is currently EU legislation under discussion which would implement a 50% braking efficiency for agricultural trailers, but this has been already been debated for a number of years without it becoming law. It seems unlikely that it will be implemented within the next few years, if ever, since this would impose higher braking standards than required on commercial vehicles.
Marshall products are fitted with hydraulic brakes as standard and on average provide a braking efficiency of 35%, which exceeds the current legal requirements. This impressive baseline performance is achieved by fitting high quality axles supplied by the world’s leading axle manufacturer, combined with enlarged 25mm brake cylinders and durable 2 wire hoses.
Take time to examine the specifications of our models and take note of the brake sizes and axles sizes. In particular notice we fit commercial 420 x 180 10 stud axles as standard on our QM/14, QM/16, QM/1600 and QM1800 models; not 10 stud industrial axles, which provide significantly reduced performance. The way to tell the difference between these axles is a commercial axle uses an S-cam brake rode while an industrial axle uses a flat-cam brake rod.
If a customer requires enhanced braking performance we also offer air brakes with loading sensing, full ABS systems and a number of axle upgrades. This guarantees a Marshall trailer can meet current legal requirements now and any EU legislation that could potentially be introduced in the future.
